Newhaven Kitchens just love this handleless modern kitchen which we appointed in Dublin.  We visited on a rainy day – so just imagine the brightness and feeling of well-being in this kitchen on a sunny day.  It’s a kitchen to feel happy in no matter what the weather.

Our clients had purchased a well located period house in Dublin and set about turning it into a bright and beautiful home for their family.  The original kitchen in the home was small and quite dark so the extension of the property was a must.  They engaged an architectural firm who delivered a stunning design for an open-plan room, with kitchen and dining space, with light coming in from a large skylight and the windows and doors facing out into their garden.

We were excited to work on this project.  The design of the kitchen is modern in style.  Our client chose painted handleless doors in “Newhaven White” and Farrow and Ball Hague Blue.

Storage

Part of the brief was to provide a large amount of storage space – so bringing the kitchen to the ceiling and putting storage space up high was important for storage of those items that don’t need to be accessed every day.

The design also features a lovely oak pantry press with power to the rear – which allows our client to use her coffee machine in this area.  Baking and cooking are an important part of our clients life and the addition of a food storage press with pullout drawers also provided practical food storage in the kitchen.

Island Hob

The hob is located on the island and extraction is provided with a downdraft extractor.  These appliances are fitted seamlessly within the Carrera Quartz featured in the kitchen – which is so bright and provides reflectivity for the light in the room.

Windowseat

The large picture windows facing out to the back garden allowed us an opportunity for further practical storage in the form of a windowseat.  We went extra deep with this windowseat – and it was so worth it!  The drawers beneath the worktop are great for kids toys or storage.  The open shelving unit is also being used to good effect.  We just LOVED this windowseat – it was so large that you could easily recline with a book in the warmth of the sun.  It was a place to take stock or relax – a social space and just glorious!  We could have stayed here forever….
