There is nothing more timeless than a classical painted kitchen.  We loved working with our clients on this timeless Newhaven Kitchen.  This home just screams of times gone by and there is just nothing richer and warmer in tone than a country cream kitchen.  Sometimes clients can’t envisage a cream kitchen and consider it to be dated – but the finishing touches and rest of the room also influences how your completed kitchen will feel.  It’s almost impossible to date a classical kitchen – and we’ve considered the necessities of modern living in this one – including practical gadgets and pantry press storage space.  The end result is that this particular kitchen is up to date in it’s features but certainly derives it’s inspiration from past eras.

Getting a Taller Kitchen:

Our clients went that extra mile in order to complete a Georgian-inspired home.  They’d opted for 10 foot high ceilings in their kitchen and the extra height really does make a massive difference.  We’re finding that many of our clients are now going for either vaulted ceilings or 9 foot ceilings – and this can dwarf the “standard” kitchen height.

We increased the height of this kitchen by adding an extra row of kitchen cabinets along the top and adding a bespoke georgian frieze to add height to the cornice.  The beauty of working with a bespoke kitchen specialist like us is that we can make your kitchen whatever height you require – it’s never a one-size fits all with us!

Belfast Sink:

Anyone can have a standard belfast sink (60cm wide) – how about this beautiful extra wide belfast sink?  It’s so imposing and you really could bath a baby in it comfortably!

Wood Worktops

Our client chose a traditional-effect quartz worktop mixed with the beauty of solid walnut wood at the seating area of the island.  The richness of the walnut is just wonderful – but it comes with a lot of maintenance! Be warned!

Overmantle:

Newhaven Kitchens offer lots of different options to provide sophisticated extraction over ranges and hobs.  The overmantle surround featured here is our Newhaven Serene Canopy and our clients chose a carved corbel to add more feature and continue the classical theme.

Pulling it all together

Our clients worked with the Newhaven Team and a local interior designer in order to put the finishing touches on their beautiful home.  The colours, textures and accents chosen provide a seamless backdrop to this stunning kitchen.

Storage:

There is nothing better than a kitchen that performs ergonomically and stores your food stuff efficiently.  This kitchen includes:

  • Pantry Presses – one with shelving and drawers beneath and the other with pullout drawers above drawers – both housing dry food stuff to maximum effect.
  • Cutlery Inserts
  • Pullout Wirework Baskets – bringing your food stuff to you instead of forcing you to dig about and get your essentials.
